SSA Philosophy

Studio Seilern has been set up as creative workshop, where ideas are developed through a dialogue with the client, design team, and project team.

Each project comes with inherent sets of issues, which get resolved through a process of enquiry and time. SSA sees and thrives to develop this process as a three-dimensional grid, made of a matrix of people, tools, and project constraints.

The people consist of the client, the design team and consultants; the tools are computers, computer modelling, model making, hand sketches and plain hard work; while each project comes with a set of requirements, limitations and opportunities.

We believe in the process, the passion for the definition of the solution, backed with a solid professional experience of built work. There is never a single solution, one underlying aesthetic or intellectual idea. Working through the matrix reveals that there are always new ways of looking at things.
