CHRISTINA SEILERN GOULANDRIS

MARCH ARB RIBA SBA

PRINCIPAL

Christina Seilern has practised as an architect in the United States and in the UK with over ten years of professional experience leading projects that range from commercial high-rises, residential, laboratories, performing arts spaces and museums for high profile clients.

After working for Rafael Viñoly Architects in New York, Christina moved to London in 2000 to establish their London office, representing RVA’s European portfolio. During her tenure, Christina grew the office to over 50 staff in five years and led projects with a construction value in excess of £700 million. Key projects included London’s 20 Fenchurch Street (the ‘Walkie-Talkie’), Leicester’s Curve theatre, Colchester’s Firstsite Contemporary Arts, Wageningen University’s environmental research centre, and Princeton University’s Institute for Integrative Genomics.

Continuing the strong design ethos she developed at RVA, Christina founded Studio Seilern Architects in December 2005. She took the conscious decision to keep working on the smaller and larger scales simultaneously and continuously; from new build, to restoration works. Key projects include White Horse Street Mayfair lofts, Boksto 6 masterplan in Vilnius, Banana Island mixed-use development in Lagos, Gota Dam residence in Zimbabwe, as well at the Knightsbridge Schools International prototype educational design.

Christina studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Wellesley College, Columbia University in the USA.
